The Architectural Technologist is responsible for translating architectural designs into technical drawings, specifications, and detailed construction documentation. This remote role supports architects, engineers, and project teams in developing accurate, compliant, and constructible design solutions. The Architectural Technologist ensures adherence to building codes, standards, and client requirements while collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality design outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare detailed architectural drawings, plans, elevations, sections, and construction documentation using CAD or BIM software
- Develop specifications and technical documentation for building components and systems
- Ensure designs comply with applicable building codes, zoning regulations, and industry standards
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients to resolve technical design challenges
- Support project planning, scheduling, and coordination of deliverables
- Conduct design reviews and quality control checks on drawings and specifications
- Maintain organized project files, drawings, and documentation
- Assist with material selection, detailing, and technical problem‑solving
- Stay current on architectural technology trends, software, and best practices
- Provide guidance on constructability, cost efficiency, and sustainability considerations
- Bachelor's degree in Architectural Technology, Architecture, or a related field
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience as an Architectural Technologist or similar role
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, BIM software, and other design tools
- Strong knowledge of building codes, construction practices, and architectural detailing
- Excellent technical drawing, documentation, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage projects in a remote environment
- Strong organizational and problem‑solving abilities
- Experience with sustainable or green building design
- Familiarity with construction project management tools
- Knowledge of 3D modeling, rendering, or visualization software
- Professional certification or licensure (if applicable)
Salary Range: $65,000 – $95,000 per year, based on experience, qualifications, and geographic location
