Job Description & How to Apply Below

Chesapeake Search Partners is partnering with a full-service commercial office furniture and workplace design firm to find a Designer to join their team. This role blends design, consulting, and client-facing collaboration, supporting sales and project teams in delivering highly functional, well-designed workplace environments.

This is a great opportunity for a designer who enjoys being involved in the full project lifecycle, from early planning and space concepts through installation and close-out, in a fast-paced, collaborative setting.

This is a hybrid opportunity based in Baltimore, with in-office work Monday-Thursday and remote work available on Fridays.

Responsibilities:
  • Partner with sales and project teams to understand client needs, workplace strategy, and project scope
  • Attend client meetings, planning sessions, and site walks
  • Review architectural plans, conduct field measurements, and assess site conditions
  • Develop and present space plans, furniture layouts, and finish concepts
  • Create and manage accurate drawings, specifications, and project documentation
  • Coordinate with external partners such as architects, general contractors, IT and electrical vendors
  • Support order entry and installation by delivering complete, approved documentation
  • Review final installations and produce as-built drawings
  • Manage time and project scope to support accurate billing and delivery
  • Stay current on workplace trends, products, and design tools
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in commercial interiors, furniture, or workplace design
  • Experience working in a client-facing, project-based environment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects at once
  • Proficiency in design and documentation tools (AutoCAD, CET, or similar)
