About Haven Energy

Haven is on a mission to accelerate the clean energy transition by deploying and aggregating solar + battery storage systems. Through partnerships with utilities, EPCs, non-profits, and government agencies, we install distributed energy resources (DERs) at residential and small commercial sites to build virtual power plants (VPPs)  a growing startup, we’re looking for dynamic and driven problem-solvers who are committed to making clean energy simple, equitable, and reliable for everyone.

We operate two business units – Direct and Channel – that serve our partners and end consumers. The Direct team delivers full-service solar + battery installations for residential and C&I customers. This team works directly with homeowners, nonprofits, small businesses, and utilities across the project lifecycle, from customer acquisition through installation to system management.

About the role

Haven is hiring a Senior Visual Product Designer to own web and product design for our Direct team. In this role, you will focus on how customers engage with Haven across our website, quoting experience, and other top-of-funnel touchpoints. As the dedicated designer for these interactions, you'll develop a deep understanding of our customers’ and partners’ needs and iterate on how we build trust, drive conversion, and deliver 5-star experiences.

You will partner closely with product, engineering, growth, CX, and data teams to deliver measurable impact. You will also partner with designers across other teams to build and refine Haven’s visual design language, streamline prototyping processes, and elevate our brand identity.
We're looking for a creator who thrives in experimentation, visual storytelling, and systems thinking.

This is a remote role within the United States, with 2 to 3 in-person team meetups per year.

What you will do
  • Own product design efforts across Haven’s homeowner-facing experiences, from concept through implementation.

  • Revamp and continuously iterate on  to improve clarity, build trust, and drive solar + battery project adoption.

  • Lead the evolution of our quoting flow, our primary lead generator, with a focus on usability and conversion.

  • Define UI standards, assisting with the build and maintenance of scalable design and component libraries in Figma.

  • Create prototypes and animations to explore interaction patterns and communicate ideas in clear, effective, and innovative ways.

  • Experiment with new design tools and AI-assisted technologies to streamline design workflows, generate ideas, and support collaboration with engineering.

  • Collaborate with product and engineering to scope work, inform requirements, document and hand off production-ready designs, and review builds to ensure execution meets design intent.

  • Partner with growth, CX, data and Direct team leaders to define website and product needs, develop content strategy, and establish performance metrics.

You’ll be a great fit if you have:
  • 6+ years of experience in product, visual, or experience design

  • Extensive UI/UX experience with a strong portfolio that demonstrates both craft and measurable outcomes

  • Advanced proficiency in Figma, with the ability to build out production-ready prototypes and design libraries

  • UI animation skills, leveraging tools such as Lottie Files, After Effects, or Figma’s built-in animation features

  • Experience designing for conversion optimization and user acquisition

  • Partnered closely with engineering teams to ensure high-quality execution and attention to detail

  • A proven ability to articulate design decisions clearly and adapt feedback from research and data into actionable improvements

  • A self-starter mindset with the ability to balance product excellence and business impact in a quickly-changing, iterative environment

  • Knowledge of web accessibility standards and best practices, ensuring our platforms are inclusive of all potential visitors

It’s not a requirement, but it would be great if you have:
  • Familiarity with tools that close the gap between design and engineering, such as Webflow, Cursor, Framer, Anima, or Claude Code

  • Expertise in quote building, check-out, or qualification flow experiences

  • Experience driving and facilitating user research or validation testing sessions

  • Collaborated closely with content strategy, UX writing, or marketing teams

  • Designed for chatbot experiences or AI-enabled customer workflows

  • A background in climate tech, consumer tech, or home energy industries

Why you’ll love working at Haven:
  • Mission-driven company accelerating the clean energy transition

  • Small but mighty team where your design work has a direct, measurable impact

  • Opportunity to shape the brand identity at an inflection point of growth

  • Opportunity to shape how clean energy & climate tech are communicated (this industry needs help!)

  • A supportive and enthusiastic team with a love for experimentation, data, and actually making things better
