UI Designer (Freelance), for SaaS Platform
Initial need is a month of full-time dedication, then 10-20 hours a month of maintenance, adjustments, etc.
REMOTE, CST.
Ideal Start: Q2
OverviewWe’re partnering with a client whose software automates and monitors business processes that caters to a variety of industries offering significantly more flexibility, deeper integrations, and broader use cases. Their platform powers highly structured, milestone‑driven workflows for enterprise clients across healthcare, direct mail, insurance, government, onboarding, RFP management, and more. Organizations use the tool to manage everything from creative approvals and production workflows to schematics and complex onboarding systems.
The platform integrates deeply with other systems, enabling automated triggers, approvals, and multi‑level review processes.
While the product is powerful, the admin module, the core engine behind workflows, has become overly complex and visually dense. It currently feels more like an Excel spreadsheet than a modern SaaS interface. That’s where you come in!
OpportunityThis is a true freelance UI role focused heavily on the visual interface layer, elevating usability, clarity, and overall intuitiveness so administrators can fully leverage the platform’s capabilities. The company already has a UX partner refining navigation and user journeys. The UI Designer will focus on:
- Modernizing the look and feel of the admin panel
- Simplifying dense, complex interfaces
- Designing clean, intuitive layouts for configuration‑heavy screens
- Elevating visual hierarchy and usability
- Bringing cohesion to a growing design system
- Helping shape typography and interface standards (brand guidelines are in progress)
Month 1:
Approximately full‑time hours (~4 weeks) to establish foundations and redesign key modules
Ongoing: 10–20 hours per month
- One heavier week
- Remaining weeks focused on lighter review sessions (2–3 hours each)
The base pay range listed reflects what we reasonably expect to offer for this role. Actual pay may vary based on location, experience, and performance. Depending on the position, benefits may include medical, dental, and vision coverage; retirement and savings plans; paid holidays and time off; supplemental insurance; and additional wellness or incentive programs.
If you are a professional freelancer who has the bandwidth to take on this role, please forward your resume/portfolio!
