Intermediate Architectural Design Consultant

Overview

DIGBAR interiors & architecture is a small multidisciplinary design studio that works on commercial, residential and hospitality projects in a casual small office environment. We strive to provide excellent design and outstanding personal service to our clients by bringing a wide range of expertise and talent to our projects.

Work from home on your own schedule. We’re looking for an Architect or Architecturally trained Designer with strong design and production drawing experience to work with us as a part-time freelance consultant. We want an individual who prefers to work as an Independent Contractor, for project-based work. Applicants should have their own computer and licensed software to work with from home.

You may occasionally be asked to come in to our office in order to get up to speed on a project, be trained in our systems and for periodic in-person meetings, but most of the work will be done remotely. Approx. 20-30 hours per week, to be paid on an hourly basis.

This is an opportunity to be responsible for projects from design through construction, while pursuing other tracks of personal interest or development. Applicant must be committed to the work they do for us and be responsible enough to effectively get a job done.

• Approximately 5 years of professional experience, preferably in small to medium sized firms, with significant involvement in single-family, Type-V and small commercial projects.
• Located in the Los Angeles area, local only.
• Be organized, self-motivated, a good communicator and a reliable design collaborator.
• Have excellent aesthetic judgment and efficient drafting production skills.
• Capable of being the primary project lead from planning and design to construction documents.
• Expertise in Autocad is required.
• 3D modeling and simple rendering ability is necessary.
• Adobe Creative Suite (or Affinity) skill is a bonus.
• Must have own computer with professional version of Autocad (LT is OK) and 3D modeling & rendering software.
• Professional Architecture degree preferred.
• LEED, licenses, professional affiliations are appreciated.
• Applicant should be independent, self-driven and able to manage their own time effectively.

• Working directly with a firm Principal and be the lead for production of a project.
• Generating design options and refinements from concepts generated by or with Principal.
• Refining and developing project design in 2D and 3D.
• Being responsible for producing Design Development and Construction Documents in AutoCAD.
• Communicating and coordinating with other team members and consultants.
• Attending regular progress meetings on Zoom during business hours and approximately weekly in-person meetings at our westside office.
