Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role based in Ann Arbor, MI, where some work-from-home flexibility is available. The Media Systems Engineer will oversee media systems and infrastructure, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to design, implement, and maintain audio‑visual workflows, technologies, and tools. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include managing multimedia systems, troubleshooting technical issues, ensuring the reliability of video and media processing systems, and researching cutting‑edge technologies to improve media solutions and workflows.

The role will support the creation, storage, and distribution of high‑quality educational content.

Qualifications
  • Experience with media systems design, implementation, and maintenance, including multimedia production workflows and audio‑visual technologies.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues in media systems, as well as managing video production/storage tools and digital media assets.
  • Familiarity with IT systems relevant to media engineering, including networking, servers, cloud platforms, and file formats for audio and video.
  • Strong problem‑solving, collaboration, and communication skills, with an ability to work with cross‑functional teams in a hybrid work environment.
  • Knowledge of emerging trends and innovations in media technologies and video production processes.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Media Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience is also considered.
  • Experience with in educational technology or in an academic environment is a plus.
