Senior Product Designer - Design Systems; Remote

Block is now looking for a talented Senior Product Designer to join their UI Systems team.

This is a remote-friendly position (US/Canada) where you’ll play a key role in building and maintaining Block’s central design system, Market. Market is used across all of Block’s merchant and customer-facing products, ensuring a unified and seamless user experience.

• Design and develop reusable UI components, libraries, and design patterns for the Market design system
• Collaborate with designers, brand designers, engineers, and program managers to improve the design system and its adoption across product teams
• Ensure the design system is scalable, functional, and aligns with Block’s overall brand identity
• Partner with product teams to educate them on the design system and best practices
• Continuously iterate and improve the design system based on user feedback and industry trends

• 8+ years of experience in product design, with 3+ years focused on design systems
• Proven track record of building and maintaining large-scale design systems
• Experience collaborating effectively across cross-functional teams
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• In-depth understanding of design principles and best practices
• Proficiency in design tools like Figma or Sketch
• (Bonus points) Experience with design handoff and collaboration tools
• (Bonus points) Basic understanding of front-end development concepts
