CAD Designer

Reports to:

Product Engineering Manager

Schedule:

M-F 7:00am – 3:30pm, with flexibility including remote work on Fridays Summary

This individual will be responsible for utilizing AutoCAD and Solid Works to create general arrangement drawings for customer approval and fabrication drawings for manufacturing use.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Duties may include the following. Other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary to support quality goals and objectives.

  • Liaise with sales and customer service to understand and identify customer needs.
  • Prepare product location and layout drawings, general arrangement drawings, product submittals and manufacturing drawings as needed.
  • Review change requests and product requirements with product design, sales and customer service as needed.
  • Maintain up-to-date component CAD libraries.
  • Work with manufacturing engineering as needed on the creation of CAD drawings for tooling, etc.
  • Assist in the maintenance and/or creation of data in the ERP system.
  • Maintain and participate in general housekeeping activities as well as the implementation and maintenance of Lean Six Sigma.
  • Adhere to all company and regulatory safety policies.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3-5 years of AutoCAD experience in a manufacturing environment including Solid Works and/or Automate Works.
  • AutoCAD certification or graduate of a technical program preferred but not required.
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform any/all essential job functions.
  • Ability to meet and maintain all qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain reasonably regular and punctual attendance.
  • Compliance with all personnel policies and practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing documents such as drawings, specifications, and work orders.
  • Experience working with ERP systems; D365 experience a plus but not required.
  • Ability and willingness for occasional international travel.
