Program Overview: The Banner Health Summer Internship Program provides valuable insight and professional‑level work experience in the healthcare industry. Internships are offered at non‑clinical corporate or facility‑based locations within the Banner system. This internship is in‑person with potential remote work depending on the department.
Ideal candidates:
Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering majors (or similar) with an interest in learning manufacturing, assembly, and tool operation. Projects may include sign manufacturing, basic manufacturing tasks, and support for the department as needed.
This position typically will be up to one year in length and will work under the direct supervision of a department manager or designee. The position is responsible for expanding experiences and knowledge of practices and procedures as they relate to assigned department and area of study. These activities may include participation in a wide variety of projects.
Core Functions- Expands and develops knowledge with exposure to a variety of roles related to area of study.
- Participates on work teams, contributes to projects and initiatives, and performs various tasks as needed by the assigned unit/department.
- Performs research and prepares reports on assigned topics and/or projects when required.
- Works as a member of a team providing service to internal and external customers.
- Have demonstrated academic achievement.
- Have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Be enthusiastic and eager to learn about healthcare.
- Be involved in extracurricular & community‑related activities.
- Junior or Senior enrolled in an Undergraduate Program or Enrolled in a Graduate Program or recent graduate within the last 6 months.
- Must be based in Phoenix, AZ and available to work on‑site (in‑person) during the duration of the program.
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college program with coursework related to the internship or general knowledge normally obtained through the completion of a college degree.
- Must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have general knowledge related to the department/unit/area of study.
- Proficiency with commonly used office software and personal computers may be necessary, depending on assignment.
- Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
