M.O.Daby Design is a residential design firm creating innovative, sustainable solutions for new builds, remodels, and adaptive reuse projects. We work closely with clients, builders, and consultants to deliver thoughtful designs that balance creativity, sustainability, and budget considerations.
The RoleWe re looking for an experienced Chief Architect drafter to help us transition our drafting workflow from Sketch Up/Layout to Chief Architect. This is a contract position based in the Portland, OR area with flexibility to work remotely, with occasional in-person and Zoom collaboration meetings.
Phase 1:Process Transition
- Convert approximately 12 existing Sketch Up/Layout plan sets to Chief Architect
- Establish office standards, templates, and drafting protocols in Chief for future projects
- Create a foundation for consistent, scalable residential drafting work
Ongoing (Potential)
Depending on project flow, this could expand to drafting current residential remodels and custom homes projects.
What We re Looking For- Proficiency in Chief Architect (and ideally familiarity with Sketch Up/Layout)
- Strong attention to detail and understanding of residential construction documents
- Experience creating or implementing office standards and templates
- Ability to work independently and collaborate via Zoom for feedback/reviews
- Clear communication and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with sustainable design principles is a plus
- Remote/work-from-home with occasional in-person meetings in Portland, OR. Hours and availability to be discussed.
