Job Description & How to Apply Below
Position: Project Architect / Designer

Novo Studio

Our team is seeking a highly creative and detail-oriented individual who is passionate about the built environment. We are a small collaborative studio based in Manchester, NH. At Novo, we believe that great architecture isn't just about the final structure; it’s about the rigor of the process and the relationships we build along the way. As a small team, we offer a high degree of autonomy and the opportunity to see projects through from a early design to the final punch list.

Job Description

We are seeking a talented and motivated Project Designer with 5 to 10 years of professional experience. This is a pivotal role in our studio. You will be a core contributor to our design language, a mentor to junior staff, and a primary point of contact for clients and consultants. The right candidate will work independently on architectural design projects and often coordinates project design efforts.

Responsibilities
  • Design Leadership: Lead the conceptual and schematic design phases, creating compelling narratives and visual presentations.
  • Project Management: Manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables for multiple concurrent projects.
  • Technical Excellence: Oversee the production of high-quality construction documents and ensure design intent is maintained through detailing.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate with structural, MEP, and civil engineers to integrate complex systems seamlessly into the design.
  • Mentorship: Guide junior designers in Revit standards, detailing, and professional development.

This position offers the flexibility of both in-person and work from home. The expectation is that the position would begin primarily in-person while learning about the projects and standards of the office.

Qualifications
  • Proficiency in Architecture and Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes
  • Experience with project management tasks, including scheduling, budgeting, and client coordination
  • Strong knowledge of and experience in preparing and reviewing Submittals
  • Understanding of sustainable design practices and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) principles
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Professional degree in Architecture or related field
  • Licensure as an Architect is preferred but not required
  • 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in a similar role
