Architectural Specification Writer

Join Kahler Slater; a purpose-driven firm where design meets strategy. We’re looking for an Architectural Specification Writer who thrives on bold ideas and has proven expertise in managing and designing institutional projects.

Our ideal Architectural Specification Writer is passionate about developing specifications and detailing complex projects aligned with the unique requirements of our markets. This candidate will bring an understanding of a variety of building typologies, construction techniques, and sustainability.

What You’ll Do:

  • Review project information to write and edit specifications for projects to comply with project requirements, firm standards, technical conditions, client guidelines, and applicable codes
  • Working from the office master specifications and AIA Masterspec, plan, schedule, organize, and prepare architectural specifications for the various phases/milestone deliverables of projects
  • Review project procurement and contracting requirements and prepare Division 01 General Requirement sections
  • Review consultant specifications for coordination with each project manual and for conformance with firm standards
  • Provide periodic coordination and quality control
