Position: Senior Architectural Project Manager (Systems Driven, Human-Centric) (Hourly)
Location: New York

Local Parti Architecture, PC is looking for an experienced leader to step into the position of Senior Architectural Project Manager for our institutional, adaptive reuse projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for guiding projects from initial concepts to final execution using specifications and standards provided by the client. This allows us to create systematic and repeatable workflows that can translate project to project.

Effective communication skills are critical, as you’ll collaborate with diverse teams including engineers and contractors mainly on ZOOM and other virtual platforms. Your duties will extend to overseeing junior architects, creating project timelines including major milestones, coordinating consultant work, requesting proposals and handling administrative tasks such as Bid, GC contracting and assembly of specifications provided by client. Integrity and meticulousness are essential qualities for success in this role as well as the desire to grow in this long‑term position.

This role offers the ability to set your own flexible hours and work from home as well as attend site visits in NYC, review work during construction administration. Familiarity with Project Management Software such as Pro Core is a must. Managing one’s schedule in relation to the rest of one’s life is valued here at our organization.

Typical

duties and responsibilities include
  • Develop and review building plans in collaboration with junior architectural staff (CAD and Revit)
  • Provide the structure for the junior staff to create DOB and Other City Agency submission packages
  • Provide redlines and sketches for site specific details
  • Understanding and execution of client specifications, guide team in creation of project specific project manuals
  • Coordinate team of consultants, which include structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineers as well as A/V and expediter
  • Manage relationships with contractors and vendors
  • Develop and oversee schedules and timelines including tracking DOB Submission and Approvals (expediter is the direct interface)
  • Manage site planning and compliance with the contract documents
Education and experience
  • Degree in architecture (licensure a plus)
  • Experience working on institutional building projects in New York City (NJ a plus)
  • Ability to work under deadlines, organize, and prioritize responsibilities
  • Ability to work with a remote team
Required skills and qualifications
  • Experience in adaptive reuse (new construction a PLUS+)
  • Experience in construction administration
  • Strong leadership abilities
  • Keen attention to detail, schedules, time management
  • Ability to read and integrate specifications
  • Ability to independently put together construction documents
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and BLUEBEAM (Revit a PLUS+)
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Expertise in creating project timelines
  • Strong collaborative and problem‑solving skills
Preferred qualifications
  • Experiences working with multinational and/or religious organizations a plus
  • Ability to visit on‑site in New York City (NJ a PLUS+) for periodic site visits
  • Understands how to strategically and effectively navigate large, complex projects
