JTS Build & Design is a growing residential design-build company creating elegant, high‑end homes for families in Northern New Jersey. The company emphasizes thoughtful design, natural materials, premium finishes, and a hands‑on client experience from start to finish.

JTS Build & Design is hiring an Interior Designer to support luxury residential design projects from concept through completion. This role is ideal for someone with a refined design eye, strong taste, excellent organization, and the ability to help guide clients through selections, finishes, layouts, materials, and the overall design experience.

The right person will understand high‑end residential aesthetics, communicate professionally with clients and team members, and help ensure that each home reflects the level of quality, detail, and elegance JTS clients expect.

The position is based in the Northern New Jersey area and will involve collaboration with clients, project teams, showrooms, and active residential projects. A flexible work arrangement may be available for the right candidate, with a combination of office, project site, and remote work as appropriate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support residential interior design projects from concept through final selections
  • Assist with design direction, material selections, finishes, fixtures, furnishings, and overall interior presentation
  • Help create cohesive design plans that align with the client's taste, lifestyle, budget, and project goals
  • Source and recommend materials, finishes, furniture, lighting, tile, flooring, cabinetry, hardware, and other design elements
  • Prepare mood boards, finish schedules, selection sheets, and presentation materials as needed
  • Communicate with clients in a polished, professional, and service‑oriented manner
  • Coordinate with ownership, project managers, vendors, trades, and suppliers to keep design decisions moving
  • Help ensure selections are made on time to support construction schedules
  • Track design details, product specifications, pricing, lead times, and procurement needs
  • Maintain strong organization around client selections, revisions, approvals, and project documentation
  • Visit showrooms, vendors, suppliers, and project sites as needed
  • Review completed work and help confirm that the finished product aligns with the approved design direction
  • Anticipate design‑related issues and communicate them before they create delays or confusion
  • Represent JTS Build & Design with professionalism, taste, and attention to detail
Qualifications
  • Interior design experience, preferably in residential or luxury residential design
  • Strong eye for high‑end design, proportion, materials, color, texture, and finish coordination
  • Ability to understand and support the aesthetic expectations of luxury residential clients
  • Experience with finish selections, furniture, lighting, tile, flooring, cabinetry, fixtures, and related materials
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple design details at once
  • Comfortable working with clients, vendors, trades, and internal team members
  • Ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and proactively
  • Strong attention to detail and follow‑through
  • Ability to work independently while staying aligned with company direction
  • Familiarity with design software, mood boards, floor plans, or presentation tools is a plus
  • Experience with procurement, ordering, lead times, or vendor coordination is a plus
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred for local showroom and project visits
  • Authorized to work legally in the U.S.
  • Professional, reliable, and aligned with a high‑quality client experience
Pay and Benefits
  • This position is expected to be offered as a full‑time role. Final employment structure will be determined based on the selected candidate's experience, availability, and the company's final hiring plans.
