Instruments & Controls CAD Intern

Overview

Jacobs is seeking a CAD/Drafting Intern to support our Instruments & Controls (I&C) design team in our Corvallis, Oregon office. This role is specifically designed for students currently enrolled in a CAD, Drafting, or Design Technology program who are looking to gain hands‑on drafting experience while completing their education.

You will support designers and engineers by producing 2D drawings and documentation, learning industry CAD tools, and working on real‑world projects in a professional design environment.

• Must be currently enrolled in secondary education courses and working toward a degree in CAD.
• CAD application understanding preferred in Microsoft and AutoCAD (ACAD), but can be taught on the job.
• Must be willing to work in the Corvallis office a minimum of 16–20 hours per week on average while finishing school; more hours are welcome with some hybrid work at home.
• Must live within commutable distance from the Corvallis office.

• CAD application understanding preferred in Micro Station and ACAD; can be taught our 3D modeling platforms on the job.
• Focused and concise verbal and written communication.
• Strong time‑management skills and experience.
• Reliable, focused, and detail‑oriented.
• Excels under pressure and maintains a calm demeanor at all times.

The base salary range for this position is $47,300.00 to $58,000.00; pay will be hourly based on hours worked.
