The Design Team Lead at SPOT will guide the product design vision and oversee end-to-end design execution for the mobile app and related digital experiences including APPLE CARPLAY. This full-time, hybrid role is based in New York, NY, with flexibility for part-time work from home. Day-to-day responsibilities include leading a small team of designers, setting design priorities, managing project timelines, and collaborating closely with product, engineering, and marketing to deliver consistent, user-centered experiences.

The Design Team Lead will drive discovery and user research, create and review wireframes and prototypes, maintain design systems, and ensure that design decisions align with business goals and user needs. The role also involves mentoring team members, facilitating design critiques, and championing accessibility and inclusive design practices across the organization.

• Strong Communication skills, active listening, and effective collaboration across cross-functional teams.
• Demonstrated Team Leadership and Team Management skills, with experience coaching designers, giving constructive feedback
  , and fostering an inclusive, high-performing team culture.
• Proven Project Management capabilities, including planning, prioritization, and delivery of multiple design initiatives on schedule in a fast-paced environment.
• Expertise in Product Design, including user-centered design, interaction and visual design, prototyping, and working with design systems for mobile applications.
• Expertise in visual cues such as iconography and fonts.
• Proficiency in modern design tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD) and familiarity with agile or product development workflows.
• Experience conducting or leveraging user research and usability testing to inform design decisions and improve product outcomes.
• Understanding of accessibility standards, responsive design, and best practices for mobile UX.
• Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience; prior experience in a lead or senior product design role is highly desirable.

• This is a Cash + Equity role based on the current PMV.
• Total compensation will be 80k-130K based on the qualifications of the applicant
