About the Position
The Assistant Technical Designer will aid the Technical Design Lead in developing and creating high‑quality, well‑fitting apparel, translating concepts into technical packages with complete fitting, sizing, grading, garment specifications and construction information, and supporting fit sessions and fit garment production along with leading fit recommendations and solutions.
Responsibilities- Translate the intent of Fashion Design into technical design specification packages (tech packs).
- Conduct fittings with guidance and assess garment construction.
- Perform pattern making and size grading.
- Take notes during fittings and meetings, and measure garments accurately.
- Pre‑fit all samples before fitting on the model and evaluate them for grading, tolerance, and safety standards.
- Create technical flat sketches.
- Review merchandise through e‑commerce and retail channels to understand customer feedback regarding fit and construction.
- Maintain comfort working within the Lilly Pulitzer Product Development calendar and meet all required deadlines.
- Communicate clearly and concisely.
- Adhere to all processes, procedures, and standards, meeting all assigned dates in the Product Development Calendar.
- Four‑year college degree required, preferably with a major/minor in Fashion Design.
- 1–2 years of Technical Design experience, preferably in the fashion or retail industry.
- Proficiency and comfort using technology to support Technical Design, including the Centric PLM System, the Pattern Design System Module of Accumark, Adobe Illustrator and Acrobat, and basic computer skills such as Outlook, Word, and Excel on Windows.
- Full‑time salaried position, exempt, not eligible for overtime.
- Eligible for standard company benefits.
- Structured hybrid work schedule based out of King of Prussia, Pennsylvania—a suburb of Philadelphia—incorporating both office and home office.
- May require domestic and international travel.
- Flexible, additional working hours during peak periods may be required.
