Senior Interior Designer / Project Manager
Location:
Hybrid position with excellent work/life balance.
- Consult with clients to determine function and special requirements, and prepare information regarding design, specifications, materials, colors, equipment, and construction time.
- Oversee unified design for client review and approval.
- Lead project design teams and ensure proper management flow for all phases of active projects, including management of budgets and schedules.
- Establish and document regular project‑related meetings, including client, internal team, and consultant meetings.
- Collaborate with building and permitting officials during permitting and construction phases, submit for permits as appropriate.
- Apply knowledge of building codes, standards, and resolve design issues.
- Develop detailed project schedules and communicate key deliverable dates to project teams.
- Plan, organize and manage work of project team and ensure tasks and expectations are clear.
- Mentor and direct the work of junior staff, participate in professional development training and review sessions.
- Provide strong leadership through management of relationships at all levels—internally and externally—with ownership, clients, production staff, consultants, and contractors.
- Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Architecture.
- 8+ years of experience in Design Project Management in a professional, commercial interior design or architecture firm.
- Experience with Corporate/Tenant Office Interiors preferred.
- NCIDQ and LEED certifications preferred.
- Proficiency and confidence in Revit, and working knowledge of AutoCAD required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of design, furniture selection/specifications, applicable building codes, QA/QC process and construction documentation and administration.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and lead all levels of staff through a combination of authority and subject matter expertise.
- Proven ability to write and negotiate contracts for services, consultants, and contractors.
