Position Overview

The Senior Architect will lead architectural design and provide strategic oversight for municipal and private developer projects, combining design leadership with management and business development responsibilities. The role requires a seasoned architect who can drive both creative and operational aspects of projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead architectural design efforts for complex projects, ensuring high‑quality solutions aligned with client needs.
  • Manage project teams through all phases: conceptualization, schematic design, design development, and construction documentation.
  • Oversee project budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure timely and on‑budget delivery.
  • Coordinate with other design professionals, contractors, and consultants to ensure cohesive execution.
  • Supervise and mentor junior architects, design staff, and technical teams.
  • Develop and implement best practices to enhance project delivery and operational efficiency.
  • Manage project workflows, ensuring design standards, quality control processes, and client expectations are consistently met.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with municipal clients, private developers, and key stakeholders.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for client communications, resolving issues and ensuring satisfaction.
  • Lead client presentations and meetings, effectively communicating design concepts and progress.
  • Identify new business opportunities and contribute to the expansion of the firm's portfolio.
  • Prepare and present proposals, qualifications, and presentations to prospective clients.
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop and implement strategies for business growth.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to identify new growth areas.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
  • Registered Architect with 8–10 post‑licensure years of professional experience.
  • 12–15 years of total professional experience, preferably with municipal clients and private sector developers.
  • Proven experience managing large‑scale architectural projects from concept to completion.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and guide teams.
  • Exceptional communication skills for engaging clients, consultants, and internal teams.
  • Solid understanding of municipal processes, zoning, permitting, and regulations.
  • Experience in business development with a track record of securing new projects.
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Sketch Up (additional tools a plus).
  • LEED accreditation or other sustainability certifications desired.
  • Project management experience and recognized certifications a plus.
