The Senior Architect will lead architectural design and provide strategic oversight for municipal and private developer projects, combining design leadership with management and business development responsibilities. The role requires a seasoned architect who can drive both creative and operational aspects of projects.
Key Responsibilities- Lead architectural design efforts for complex projects, ensuring high‑quality solutions aligned with client needs.
- Manage project teams through all phases: conceptualization, schematic design, design development, and construction documentation.
- Oversee project budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure timely and on‑budget delivery.
- Coordinate with other design professionals, contractors, and consultants to ensure cohesive execution.
- Supervise and mentor junior architects, design staff, and technical teams.
- Develop and implement best practices to enhance project delivery and operational efficiency.
- Manage project workflows, ensuring design standards, quality control processes, and client expectations are consistently met.
- Cultivate strong relationships with municipal clients, private developers, and key stakeholders.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for client communications, resolving issues and ensuring satisfaction.
- Lead client presentations and meetings, effectively communicating design concepts and progress.
- Identify new business opportunities and contribute to the expansion of the firm's portfolio.
- Prepare and present proposals, qualifications, and presentations to prospective clients.
- Collaborate with leadership to develop and implement strategies for business growth.
- Stay informed on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to identify new growth areas.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
- Registered Architect with 8–10 post‑licensure years of professional experience.
- 12–15 years of total professional experience, preferably with municipal clients and private sector developers.
- Proven experience managing large‑scale architectural projects from concept to completion.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and guide teams.
- Exceptional communication skills for engaging clients, consultants, and internal teams.
- Solid understanding of municipal processes, zoning, permitting, and regulations.
- Experience in business development with a track record of securing new projects.
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Sketch Up (additional tools a plus).
- LEED accreditation or other sustainability certifications desired.
- Project management experience and recognized certifications a plus.
