Structural Designer - Remote​/Hybrid

Job Overview

We are seeking a Structural Designer to support our Oak Ridge, TN office. The role involves participating in the design process, developing BIM models, producing design drawings, and preparing construction documents for steel, concrete, and masonry structures.

• Participate in the design process for structural systems.
• Develop BIM models using Revit and/or Tekla.
• Produce design drawings and construction documents.
• Resolve basic model clashes.
• Assist in detailing steel and concrete drawings.
• Coordinate 3D models and construction drawings.

• Sole US citizenship required.
• 3-12 years of experience on industrial, commercial, or nuclear projects.
• Ability to follow quality procedures and ensure procedural compliance.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Comfortable working in fast‑paced, evolving environments.
• Experience with Revit and/or Tekla for BIM modeling and drawing production.
• Knowledge of industry standards (AISC, ACI, IBC, etc.).
• Basic model clash resolution skills.
• Detailing experience for steel and concrete drawings.

• Experience using AutoCAD and/or Micro Station.
• Background in Oil & Gas, Power Generation, Chemical Plants, or Manufacturing Facilities.
• Ability to interpret engineering calculations.
• Knowledge of connection design and fabrication drawing creation.
• Experience with Navisworks or similar 3D coordination tools.

This position offers remote/hybrid work with a preference for full‑time on‑site presence in Oak Ridge, TN. For candidates within 50 miles of the office, a hybrid schedule requires a minimum of 50% on‑site weekly. Candidates outside 50 miles may work remotely with quarterly travel to the Oak Ridge office. All remote and hybrid workers must maintain a secured, company‑approved workspace in the United States.

Hourly rate: $30.29 – $48.08 per hour.

• Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting up to 20 lbs.
• Maximum carrying distance of 50 feet.
• Hand manipulation for simple grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation.
• Occasional need to reach or work above shoulder height and below shoulder height.
• Potential exposure to construction equipment, hazardous machinery, uneven ground, dust, gas or fumes, noise, extreme temperatures or humidity, and heights.
