Architectural Designer
This role focuses on facilities design for a rapidly growing design group in Northwest Ohio, with the option to work from offices in Toledo, OH or Sidney, OH. The Architectural Designer will primarily use AutoCAD and Revit to develop industrial and commercial architecture projects, generate detailed drawings, and support project management activities. The position begins as a one-year contract-to-hire opportunity, offering meaningful involvement in a high-volume, industrial-focused portfolio.
Responsibilities- Design industrial and commercial facilities using AutoCAD and Revit, ensuring alignment with project requirements and industry standards.
- Develop, refine, and maintain architectural drawings, plans, and details within a BIM environment.
- Collaborate with project teams to translate conceptual designs into accurate construction documents.
- Support project management efforts by coordinating design activities, managing documentation, and tracking design progress.
- Participate in design reviews and provide input on constructability, functionality, and aesthetics of industrial and commercial projects.
- Ensure that all designs comply with applicable codes, regulations, and best practices for industrial and commercial architecture.
- Work closely with studio colleagues to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality design solutions on multiple concurrent projects.
- Contribute to the growth of the design group by taking on new projects as the firm continues to expand its workload.
- 2–5 years of experience working in a professional architecture studio.
- At least 3 years of experience performing facilities design, with a focus on industrial projects.
- Demonstrated experience in industrial and commercial architecture.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD for facilities and architectural design.
- Proficiency in Revit and familiarity with BIM workflows.
- Ability to generate accurate and detailed architectural drawings and construction documents.
- Experience contributing to design and project management activities within an architectural setting.
- Eligibility to work on a contract-to-hire basis.
Skills & Qualifications
- Professional registration as an architect in Ohio is preferred but not required.
- Registration as an architect in another state with the ability to become registered in Ohio is preferred.
- Experience in industrial architecture beyond residential or restaurant-focused work.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working within a studio environment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to a high-volume workload.
- Interest in contributing to a rapidly growing design group.
The role is based in a professional architecture studio with offices in Toledo, OH and Sidney, OH. Initially, the Architectural Designer will work on-site to meet the team, integrate into the studio culture, and become familiar with processes and projects. Once established, remote work options may be available. The environment is fast-paced and project-driven, with the firm currently managing more work than it can fully address, offering exposure to a broad range of industrial and commercial projects.
The position is structured as a one-year contract-to-hire role and includes two weeks of paid time off and six paid holidays during the contract period. Work is performed using AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM tools in a collaborative studio setting.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sidney, OH.
