Company Description Scottsdale Farms Garden Center is a family-owned garden center, nursery, and working farm that has served the North Atlanta area for over 20 years. Located on 65 acres in Milton, GA, the property features thoughtfully designed spaces that reflect a focus on simplicity and pleasing proportions. Founded and expanded by Luca Gianturco, the business grew from Christmas tree lots that have operated continuously since 1982 into a full-service garden center, landscape business, and café.

Role Description The Landscape Sales Designer is a full-time hybrid role based in Alpharetta, GA, with some flexibility for work-from-home tasks such as design work, proposals, and client communication. Day-to-day responsibilities include meeting with customers to assess their outdoor spaces, discussing needs and preferences, and developing creative landscape designs that align with budget and site conditions. The role involves preparing detailed plans, plant lists, and estimates, coordinating with installation and maintenance crews, and overseeing projects to ensure design integrity and customer satisfaction.

The Landscape Sales Designer will generate and follow up on leads, prepare sales presentations, and maintain accurate records of proposals, contracts, and project progress. Collaboration with the garden center team to source materials, stay current on plant availability, and support seasonal landscape offerings is also essential.

Qualifications

  • Landscape design and landscaping skills, including the ability to create functional, attractive outdoor plans .
  • Landscape maintenance and gardening skills to recommend appropriate plants, care strategies, and long-term maintenance plans.
  • Irrigation knowledge to integrate efficient watering solutions and basic drainage considerations into landscape designs.
  • Strong customer service and sales abilities, including consultative selling, estimating, and presenting design concepts to clients.
  • Proficiency with basic design tools or software (e.g., CAD, landscape design programs, or comparable digital tools).
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with crews, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Organizational and project management skills to handle multiple projects, schedules, and deadlines.
  • Experience in landscape design, horticulture, or a related field; formal training or certification is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to conduct on-site visits in the Alpharetta/North Atlanta area.
