SLCE Architects is seeking a highly motivated Senior Job Captain to join our Los Angeles office. This role is ideal for an experienced architectural professional with strong technical expertise, exceptional Revit skills, and a proven ability to coordinate complex projects through all phases of design and documentation.
The Senior Job Captain will work closely with Project Managers and Project Architects to develop, coordinate, and deliver high-quality construction documents while serving as a key liaison among consultants, clients, and contractors.
Responsibilities Project Coordination- Lead day-to-day project coordination and team communication.
- Coordinate with consultants, engineers, contractors, and internal project teams.
- Monitor project schedules, milestones, and deliverable deadlines.
- Organize and document project meetings and action items.
- Develop and coordinate architectural documentation from schematic design through construction documents.
- Produce detailed plans, sections, elevations, schedules, and technical details.
- Maintain project Revit models and BIM standards.
- Coordinate consultant information and manage drawing integration.
- Review and implement redlines while overseeing quality control of drawing production.
- Support building code and zoning research.
- Coordinate structural, MEP, and specialty consultant documentation.
- Identify and resolve technical and coordination issues.
- Assist in developing practical, constructible design solutions.
- Prepare RFIs, addenda, supplemental instructions, and bulletins.
- Review shop drawings and material submittals.
- Participate in site observations, field visits, and punch list activities as needed.
- Translate design concepts into well-coordinated construction documents.
- Assist with detailing, building systems integration, and material research.
- Collaborate with project leadership throughout project development.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture.
- 8-12+ years of professional architectural experience.
- Advanced proficiency in Revit and working knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Strong understanding of BIM workflows and document coordination.
- Experience producing comprehensive construction document sets.
- Experience with reinforced concrete construction.
- Experience with renovation, repositioning, and adaptive reuse projects.
- Knowledge of applicable building codes, accessibility standards, and zoning requirements.
- Professional licensure is preferred but not required.
- Experience with multifamily residential, mixed-use, commercial, institutional, or large-scale urban projects is highly desirable.
- Strong technical and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple project deadlines simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and consultant coordination abilities.
- Demonstrated leadership and mentoring experience with junior staff.
- Commitment to quality, accuracy, and thoughtful problem-solving.
This is a full-time, in-office position based in our Los Angeles office. Regular in-person attendance is an essential requirement of the role and is critical to effective collaboration, mentorship, project coordination, and project delivery.
