You are an experienced landscape designer or landscape architect who is motivated by meaningful work that enhances natural systems and creates lasting benefits for communities. Your work contributes to creating resilient, sustainable landscapes in open space, park, shoreline, campus, and habitat restoration settings, with a focus on enhancing both ecological function and community experience. You value collaboration and enjoy working on projects from planning and conceptual design through construction, helping transform complex site opportunities into forward-thinking design solutions.

You are equally comfortable in the office and the field, and are eager to contribute to site assessments, field surveys, restoration monitoring efforts, and construction oversight.

A lifelong learner, you want to keep growing intellectually and professionally.

About the Job

We are currently seeking a collaborative and creative landscape designer to join the landscape architecture group in our San Francisco Bay Area office (Los Gatos, Santa Clara County). In this role, you will contribute to the planning and design of habitat restoration, open space, park, trail, and ecology-driven campus projects throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond. The group works closely with restoration specialists, wildlife biologists, botanists, wetland scientists, and aquatic ecologists to create projects that support both ecological and community objectives.

Collaboration is central to how we work and offers opportunities to engage in projects from early planning and analysis through design and implementation.

The team’s work spans all phases of project delivery, from site analysis and conceptual planning through detailed design, construction documentation, and implementation support. Current projects include shoreline parks, habitat restoration sites, business campuses, trails, and open space systems that enhance ecological health while creating engaging experiences for the community.

This position can accommodate a hybrid schedule that allows for a combination of in-office and remote work; work in the Los Gatos office is anticipated at least once a week and site visits will be required.

Responsibilities
  • Analyzing site conditions and developing conceptual designs and construction documents.
  • Creating graphical plans and sections to support the ecological basis of design and planning for public access, creek, marsh and wetland restoration.
  • Assisting with construction period services, including site visits and contractor coordination.
  • Assisting restoration, wildlife, and plant ecologists with fieldwork, including conducting field surveys and long-term monitoring of restoration sites.
Requirements Qualifications
  • 2+ years of design experience in a professional setting, preferably in a landscape architecture office or studio
  • A demonstrated interest in ecology
  • Experience working in AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Excellent written, graphics, and oral communication skills
  • A keen design sense and knack for analysis and problem-solving
  • Strong organizational abilities
  • An aptitude with hand rendering
  • A desire to grow both intellectually…
