Project Architect Needed at Creative and Established Residential Design Firm
The Project Architect role will be a crucial role in our small but mighty firm, bringing expertise in design, communication, and leadership. You will lead the design vision for projects, working hand
-in-hand with our clients. Our ideal candidate has 7+ years of professional experience leading design excellence from concept through execution.
Architect Mason Kirby Inc is a residential design-focused firm that believes in each client’s individuality and putting their visions into extraordinary design. We embrace context and modernity to create bespoke homes that go beyond the expected.
The Basics:Schedule and Location
: 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday-Friday from our Bernal Heights studio, with flexibility for some remote work.
Compensation
: $110k-$145k annually, commensurate with experience.

- Oversee all phases of projects from schematic design through construction administration, including permitting and plan check.
- Lead the design, detailing, and full documentation of selected project interiors and exteriors.
- Produce detailed design outlines, technical specifications, and project schedules.
- Assign and delegate tasks to the team and manage presentation and production deadlines and client correspondence.
- Review project designs and documentation to ensure compliance with planning and building codes.
- Work directly with Principal to assure all project and client needs are met.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience including the interior architecture of high-end residential projects.
- Degree from an NAAB-accredited school of architecture.
- California license, or in the final stretch of it - we will support remaining exams.
- Proficiency in Vectorworks, or strong Revit/AutoCAD fluency and willingness to transition (we will train).
- Superior written and verbal English communication skills.
- Ability to turn clients’ visions into a design reality.
