T2 Design & Prototype transforms invention ideas into market-ready consumer products through end-to-end design and development services. The team provides product design, CAD, patent searching, prototyping, engineering for production, and manufacturing sourcing and liaison. T2 Design has been featured on ABC’s hit TV show “American Inventor,” demonstrating its visibility and credibility in the innovation space.

This part-time Industrial Designer role is a hybrid position based in Santa Monica, CA, with some work-from-home flexibility. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing product concepts, creating sketches and 3D CAD models, and refining designs based on client requirements, usability, and manufacturability. The Industrial Designer will collaborate with internal teams and clients to support product development, assist in prototyping, and prepare documentation for engineering and manufacturing partners.

The role also involves applying design thinking principles to solve functional and aesthetic challenges, participating in design reviews, and iterating on concepts to meet performance, cost, and production goals.

• Strong Industrial Design and Product Design skills, with the ability to translate invention ideas into clear, user-centered product concepts.
• Experience with Prototyping and Product Development, including building and testing models to validate design decisions.
• Proficiency in Design Thinking, with a structured approach to problem-solving, creativity, and iterative refinement.
• Relevant experience using Solid Works and other design tools, and understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and production constraints.
• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong visual, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present concepts to clients and team members.
• Ability to work on-site in Santa Monica, CA on a hybrid schedule and manage time effectively in a part-time role.
• Previous experience in consumer product design or working with inventors, startups, or manufacturing partners is a plus.
