Rachel Laxer Interiors is seeking an Interior Designer to join our team. This is a full-time, hybrid position - work from home and in-studio - based in our Scarsdale/Westchester, NY studio, and we are open to a 4-day or 5-day week for the right candidate. The role is ideal for a candidate with a minimum of three years of experience, preferably in a high-end residential design studio, who is confident taking ownership of projects from concept through installation.
The successful candidate is highly organized, a self-starter, and a problem solver, comfortable managing multiple projects with limited guidance while collaborating closely with the Principal and studio team. Candidates must be based in the tri-state area, with travel to project sites and sourcing as needed.
Compensation$70, annually, commensurate with experience, plus discretionary annual bonus.

- Prepare plans, elevations, and presentations in AutoCAD and In Design
- Source and select fabrics, finishes, and furnishings, collecting samples in person
- Prepare FF&E specifications, schedules, cost plans, proposals, and invoices
- Track orders and deliveries, resolving issues before they affect a deadline
- Prepare COIs and handle building alteration and decorating agreements
- Create custom work orders for suppliers
- Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and building teams, including regular time on site
- Minimum 3 years of experience at an interior design firm, preferably high-end residential
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, plus InDesign, Photoshop, and Excel
- Strong verbal, written, and visual communication skills
Rachel Laxer Interiors is a boutique interior design studio delivering full-scope residential projects from concept through installation, with work spanning New York, London, San Francisco, and Europe. Our practice covers interior architecture, custom furniture and millwork, FF&E procurement, and construction coordination for a private clientele who value discretion as much as design.
