Job description:
Insight Global is seeking a VDC Designer, Electrical for a top construction client. This candidate will play a key role in supporting complex construction projects through the creation, maintenance, and coordination of detailed electrical BIM models. The ideal candidate will have strong Revit expertise, hands-on electrical trade experience, and experience working with LOD 350-400 models. This individual will collaborate closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and MEP teams to ensure clash-free, constructible designs while providing remote support to field operations.
The role offers the opportunity to work on large-scale projects using cutting-edge BIM and VDC technologies, helping drive project success through accurate modeling, coordination, and innovative construction solutions.
Responsibilities include:
Develop and maintain accurate electrical 3D models in Revit.
Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and project stakeholders.
Perform clash detection using Navisworks and resolve design conflicts.
Collaborate with MEP teams to ensure coordinated and constructible designs.
Provide remote support to field operations and project teams.
Integrate 3D scans and field data into project models.
Prepare and manage technical documentation, drawings, and schedules.
Conduct quality control reviews to ensure model accuracy and compliance.
Support BIM/VDC processes throughout all phases of construction projects.
Utilize BIM
360 and other collaboration tools to improve project coordination.
Stay current on emerging BIM and VDC technologies to drive process improvements.
