Junior Designer

We are seeking a talented, detail-oriented Junior Interior Designer to join our high-end residential design studio. This role is ideal for a motivated designer with a strong aesthetic sensibility, excellent organizational skills, and a desire to develop their expertise in luxury residential interiors. Working closely with senior designers and project leads, the Junior Designer will support projects from initial concept through installation.

The ideal candidate appreciates thoughtful, timeless design and understands the level of precision, discretion, and attention to detail required when creating highly customized homes.

• Assist with the development of design concepts, presentations, mood boards, material palettes, and client-facing materials.
• Produce and update floor plans, elevations, furniture plans, reflected ceiling plans, and other design drawings.
• Source furniture, lighting, fabrics, finishes, plumbing fixtures, hardware, artwork, and accessories appropriate for high-end residential projects.
• Request and organize samples, pricing, lead times, specifications, and product information from vendors and showrooms.
• Prepare and maintain furniture, fixture, and equipment specifications and schedules.
• Support senior designers with custom furniture, millwork, cabinetry, and architectural detailing.
• Coordinate with vendors, showrooms, workrooms, contractors, architects, and other project partners.
• Maintain organized project files, material libraries, and design documentation.
• Assist with purchasing, order tracking, receiving coordination, and resolution of product-related issues.

20-30 hours a week to start could soon become full-time, depending on Workload. Expected to be in the office Monday-Thursday. Work from home on Friday. Hours 9-5 in Lake Bluff, IL
