Wi Development Corp is a growing design-build construction company specializing in high-end residential renovations, additions, and custom construction throughout the Bay Shore and Long Island area. Because our design work is completed in-house, drafting plays an important role in turning client ideas, field measurements, and design decisions into clear construction documents. Our projects are highly customized and require careful attention to existing conditions and architectural details.
We are seeking a detail-oriented Residential AutoCAD Drafter to support our design and construction team. You will prepare, revise, and organize residential drawings using AutoCAD while working closely with company ownership and project personnel.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and revise residential drawings using AutoCAD.
- Convert sketches, measurements, field notes, and design concepts into clear drawings.
- Assist with floor plans, elevations, sections, details, and existing-condition drawings.
- Update plans following client decisions, field discoveries, and internal reviews.
- Organize drawing files, revisions, reference documents, and project information.
- Coordinate with company ownership, designers, estimators, and field personnel.
- Review drawings for dimensions, consistency, completeness, and accuracy.
- Incorporate markups and corrections promptly.
- Identify missing information, inconsistencies, and coordination questions.
- Help maintain company drafting standards, file-naming systems, and drawing templates.
- Visit local project sites to take measurements and document existing conditions when needed.
- Prepare drawing information that supports estimating, permitting, and construction.
- Communicate progress, questions, and anticipated deadlines clearly.
- Previous residential drafting experience is required.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD is required.
- Experience with high end custom homes, residential additions, or renovation projects is required.
- Ability to prepare and revise floor plans, elevations, sections, and construction details.
- Understanding of residential construction methods and drawing conventions.
- Strong measurement, documentation, and file-management skills.
- Ability to interpret sketches, field notes, photographs, and design markups.
- Careful attention to dimensions, alignment, consistency, and drawing accuracy.
- Strong communication and follow-through.
- Able to manage assignments independently while collaborating remotely.
- Local candidates must have dependable transportation for occasional meetings and site visits.
- Reliable internet and an appropriate remote work environment are required. Required AutoCAD licensing/software will be provided by the company.
- Pay: $35 - $50 per hour based on drafting experience, residential knowledge, and the agreed part-time schedule.
- Approximately 15-25 hours per week, with scheduling flexibility based on project volume and bid deadlines.
- 6 paid federal holidays
- Hybrid or remote work flexibility, depending on the candidate's location and qualifications.
