SLCE Architects is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Job Captain to join our Los Angeles office. This role is ideal for an architectural professional who is passionate about technical excellence, project coordination, and the production of high-quality construction documents.
The Job Captain will work closely with Project Managers, Project Architects, and consulting teams to coordinate project documentation, support project delivery, and help translate design concepts into well-executed, buildable solutions.
Responsibilities Project Coordination- Support day-to-day project coordination and communication among internal team members and consultants.
- Assist with tracking project schedules, milestones, and deliverables.
- Coordinate with engineers, consultants, and contractors throughout project development.
- Prepare meeting notes, coordination documentation, and action item lists.
- Assist in the development and coordination of architectural documentation from schematic design through construction documents.
- Produce plans, elevations, sections, schedules, and technical details.
- Maintain project Revit models and support BIM standards.
- Coordinate consultant drawings and information into project documentation.
- Implement redline revisions and maintain drawing accuracy and quality.
- Assist with building code research and zoning analysis.
- Coordinate structural, MEP, and specialty consultant documentation.
- Identify drawing conflicts and work with project teams to resolve coordination issues.
- Support development of technical and constructible design solutions.
- Assist in preparing RFIs, addenda, bulletins, and supplemental sketches.
- Review shop drawings and submittals under the direction of project leadership.
- Participate in site visits, field observations, and punch list activities as required.
- Assist in translating design concepts into coordinated construction documents.
- Support material research, product selection, and detailing.
- Collaborate with project teams throughout all phases of project development.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture.
- 5-8+ years of professional architectural experience.
- Strong proficiency in Revit and working knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Experience producing and coordinating construction documents.
- Understanding of BIM workflows and project coordination.
- Experience with multifamily residential, mixed-use, commercial, institutional, or similar project types.
- Experience with reinforced concrete construction and renovation projects is desirable.
- Knowledge of building systems, construction methods, and applicable building codes.
- Professional licensure is a plus but not required.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
- Collaborative team player with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Interest in continued professional growth and technical development.
This is a full-time, in-office position based in our Los Angeles office. Regular in-person attendance is an essential requirement of the role and is critical to effective collaboration, mentorship, project coordination, and project delivery.
