The Position

The Assistant BIM Manager supports the BIM (Building Information Modeling) operations across design, coordination, and project delivery. This role works closely with the BIM Manager, project teams, client representatives, architects, interior designers, and stakeholders to ensure accurate, efficient, and collaborative use of BIM processes and technologies.

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $60,000 – $90,000. Compensation offered will depend on a variety of factors, including but not limited to candidate’s qualifications, skills, relevant experience, education, and certifications.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Assist the BIM Director in developing, implementing, and maintaining BIM standards, workflows and protocols.
  • Support project teams in model setup, coordination and clash detection using industry standard BIM software (e.g. AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, Civil 3D)
  • Assist co-workers with BIM and Revit issues related to their projects.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to resolve design and coordination issues.
  • Assist in preparing BIM executive plans and documentation for project stakeholders.
  • Use 3D scanning equipment to capture high-resolution images and data of objects, structures, or environments.
  • Set up and calibrate 3-D scanners according to project requirements.
  • Conduct scans in various settings, including indoor and outdoor environments.
  • Process and analyze scanned data to create accurate 3-D models.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure data accuracy and project success.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot scanning equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Document scanning procedures and results for future reference.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in 3-D scanning technology and techniques.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Two-year technical certification or associate degree in a related field preferred.
  • Two plus years of proven experience operating 3-D scanning equipment and software.
  • Strong technical skills and proficiency in 3-D modeling software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or similar).
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot equipment and software issues.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to travel to various project sites as needed. Must have a valid driver’s license to travel to project sites.
  • Experience and working knowledge with Autodesk AutoCAD and Revit experience.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based collaboration platforms (e.g., BIM 360, ACC).
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in 3-D scanning technology and techniques.
  • Use Laser Scanning Technology to scan existing conditions of buildings, and sites.
  • Knowledge of architecture and engineering industry/building design.
  • Register, clean, and prep scanned point clouds for use in BIM software.
  • Use BIM software to create models from point clouds.
