Figma is hiring an AI Model Designer to bridge AI research innovations with design principles and help teach models to be better copilots for designers. The role involves working across all Figma products to improve AI models' design capabilities and overseeing evaluation quality. This is a full time role that can be held from one of Figma's US hubs or remotely in the United States.

• Collaborate closely with AI researchers to improve model performance from a design perspective
• Develop and document design principles and heuristics that can be used by our AI systems
• Build thorough methods to test and enhance the quality of AI-generated outputs
• Oversee the quality of our design evaluations and give guidance to external partners
• Be the bridge between the AI research team and designers, translating technical details for designers and design concepts for AI experts

• Experience developing design heuristics and design principles
• Experience leading design efforts for a suite of products or working on features that span multiple product lines
• Experience using AI models for design tasks, either coding or image models
• Proven track record in managing complex projects that involve collaboration across different teams and organizational boundaries
• Experience managing contractors and multiple projects on tight timelines
• Strong design background with excellent taste and attention to detail
