Associate Designer – Girls Apparel

Location: New York, NY |
Schedule: Full-time, primarily on-site with some flexibility to work from home on Fridays

A leading children's apparel company engaged in licensed and private label business with major retailers across the USA is seeking an Associate Designer to support its Big Girls apparel collections for a major licensed retail partnership. This role plays a key part in bringing seasonal design concepts to life, from trend research through sample review, working closely with cross-functional design and product teams.

• Support the design and development of seasonal apparel collections for the Big Girls licensed retail business
• Research current fashion, color, graphic, and market trends relevant to the target customer
• Create and update apparel designs, colorways, and presentations using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
• Collaborate with Senior Designers, Graphic Designers, Merchandising, and Product Development teams
• Help develop design concepts that align with brand guidelines, retailer needs, and seasonal trends
• Review samples and provide design feedback throughout the development process
• Organize and maintain design files, artwork, and seasonal project information
• Assist with approvals and revisions to ensure designs meet brand and customer expectations

• 2+ years of apparel design experience, preferably in children's or retail apparel
• Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
• Strong understanding of fashion trends, color, graphics, and apparel construction
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Must be located in NYC

• Experience in children's or retail apparel design preferred
• Licensed apparel experience is a plus
