Stateless is a team of fashion design, branding, and production management experts. Brands worldwide outsource their design, development, and production to us, so you won’t spend a year stuck in one category. In a single season you might go from swim to sweaters to children swear to active, taking brands from first sketch through production.

Compensation is $45 per hour for freelance, starting at $75K for full-time employment

• Design across every category we serve: mens, womens, children swear, contemporary, sportswear, active, sweaters, and swim, produced in the US and overseas.
• Learn from a senior, collaborative team of design, branding, and production experts.
• A hybrid schedule of in-office and remote work, with fittings and meetings held at our NYC office.
• We always start with freelance (full-time or part-time), with the goal of transitioning to full-time employment.

• Develop designs and original artwork for products manufactured in the US and overseas.
• Sketch and build tech packs, including artwork tech packs with Pantone codes for artwork, labels, etc.
• Consult with the client/brand through sketch reviews, fabric selection, sample size, fit, and construction until every element is approved for production.
• Partner with project managers, product developers, and clients to keep everyone aligned on the vision of the brand and the standard of work upheld at the factories.
• Attend design review/approval meetings and in-person NYC fittings.

• 3+ years in creative/fashion design across categories (required).
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator for sketching/tech packs (required).
• Knowledge of the apparel design and development process: flat sketching, tech packs, construction, and materials.
• Ability to create original artwork in Photoshop or similar, and AI design imagery for direction or presentation purposes (both highly preferred).
• Confidence to client-face and consult, plus strong professional writing.
• Bachelor’s or relevant certificate; corporate fashion experience a plus; able to be in the NYC office for fittings.
