Growing Mid-Sized Commercial Architectural Firm – Bergen County, NJ

We are seeking a highly experienced Registered Architect / Architectural Project Manager to join our growing architectural firm. This position is ideal for a motivated professional with strong technical expertise, leadership ability, and experience managing projects from planning through construction administration.

Projects include Retail, Office, Higher Education, Aviation, Transportation, and Infrastructure work, many involving complex building and accessibility code requirements.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 15 years of post-graduate experience in a U.S.

-based architectural firm under the supervision of a licensed architect.

• Manage projects from planning and schematic design through construction administration
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, and internal design teams
• Supervise and mentor junior staff
• Conduct site surveys and field investigations
• Review applicable building, zoning, and accessibility code requirements
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and project correspondence
• Assist with staffing projections and fee proposals
• Prepare presentations for client meetings, zoning boards, and planning boards
• Perform detailed accessibility compliance reviews, including ADA and agency-specific standards

Experience with the following project types and agencies is highly desirable:

• NJ-DPMC
• Higher Education (SUNY, CUNY, Rutgers, etc.)
• MTA
• PANYNJ

Candidates should possess a strong working knowledge of:

• New York State, New York City, and New Jersey Building Codes
• Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
• PANYNJ Supplemental Accessibility Standards (preferred but not required)

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Architecture
• NY and/or NJ Architectural Registration
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong technical writing ability and command of the English language
• Legal authorization to work in the United States

• Microsoft Office 365
• Sketch Up or other 3D modeling software preferred

Our office is located in Bergen County, New Jersey.

New hires are required to work in-office during the initial three-month onboarding period. Following the review period, employees may elect to work remotely up to two days per week.

Salary will be commensurate with experience.
