Job Overview
Market Medical Director at knownwell – a weight‑inclusive healthcare company delivering metabolic health services, primary care, nutrition counseling, and health coaching. Hybrid – 20 clinical hours/week and 20 administrative hours/week. Salary range: $/yr – $/yr
. Location Chicago, IL. Full‑time, remote work stipend for virtual employees, 401K match, up to 20 days PTO, 14 weeks parental leave.
- Provide exceptional primary and metabolic care to adults 18+ and pediatric patients 12+ for metabolic health, using audio/visual virtual technology where clinic appointments are unavailable.
- Mentor and coach clinical staff, ensuring they stay current on medical advancements and practice protocols.
- Lead the development and implementation of new clinical programs, policies, and procedures to improve patient care and outcomes.
- Build and maintain relationships with physicians, advanced practice clinicians, and local healthcare stakeholders, including primary care, specialists, and health system networks.
- Participate in educational sessions and presentations to local healthcare professionals about knownwell’s services and benefits.
- Attend networking events, medical conferences, and community health fairs to increase visibility and create referral opportunities.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create promotional materials and campaigns highlighting knownwell’s unique offerings and advantages.
- Support the Regional Senior Medical Director in developing or adapting market‑specific operational procedures and protocols for existing and new practices to ensure efficient, effective, and safe operations.
- Support the development and referral relationships with local healthcare providers, including primary care, specialists, and health system networks.
- Coordinate with the broader care team to ensure the patient has the support they need and document accurate billing, including remote patient monitoring data.
- Escalate any concerns to the dedicated site leadership team and provide clinical guidance to advance practice clinicians, medical assistants, and nursing teams as assigned.
- Flex clinical or administrative time based on patient or organizational needs.
- MD or DO required; board‑certified in Family Practice or Internal Medicine.
- Active, unrestricted Illinois license to practice; DEA authority with no restrictions.
- Minimum 5 years of in‑person or remote clinical experience as a physician outside residency or fellowship training.
- Minimum 2 years of leadership overseeing clinicians (MD/DO/NP/PA) in an ambulatory setting.
- Board certification in American Board of Obesity Medicine recommended but not required.
- Valid BLS certification; proficiency with Microsoft Office applications recommended.
- Clinical experience in an ambulatory care setting, family or internal medicine; chronic condition and weight‑management experience preferred.
- Willingness to obtain additional licensures if needed based on business needs and to supervise Advanced Practice Clinician(s) as necessary.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; high emotional intelligence; inclusive, compassionate, shared decision‑making focus.
- Authorized to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship.
