Section Chief of Advanced Heart Failure & Transplant Cardiology

Responsibilities*

As Section Chief, you will be responsible for:

  • Strategic Vision:
    Develop, articulate, and execute the clinical, academic, and educational vision for Advanced Heart Failure & Transplant Cardiology, aligned with the divisional and institutional goals.
  • Clinical Leadership:
    Manage faculty schedules and clinical operations, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care.
  • Advancing Scholarship:
    Promote a productive and collaborative research environment, supporting faculty achievement and interdisciplinary initiatives.
  • Fostering

    Education:

    Cultivate a thriving learning culture for trainees and faculty, enhancing mentorship, teaching, and professional growth.
  • Faculty Development:
    Oversee evaluations, recruitment, and development.
  • Collaborating for Impact:
    Partner with leadership across the Division and Institution to advance clinical innovation, research, and educational excellence.

Required Qualifications *

We seek leaders with:

  • M.D. or D.O. with board certification in Cardiovascular Medicine and Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology.
  • Eligibility for Michigan medical licensure.
  • Distinguished record of clinical and teaching achievement and scholarly productivity.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in mentorship, education, and faculty development.
  • Commitment to fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
  • Academic rank and track will be determined by qualifications and experience.

This dynamic role has a significant impact on patient care, faculty development, and scholarly achievement, and is accompanied by a faculty appointment (Clinical- or Tenure-Track) at Associate Professor or Professor rank.
