Job Summary

Washington Permanente Medical Group, the Pacific Northwest's top-rated multi-specialty group, is currently seeking a BE/BC Internist or BE/BC Family Medicine physician, with experience working in Geriatric and/or Hospice/Palliative medicine, to join our Post‑Acute Care program (or Continuing Care team). This an hourly locum position that combines outpatient hospice and palliative care and supports care for a complex patient population.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities Professional Competence
  • Demonstrates consistent and reliable diagnostic and therapeutic judgment.
  • Supports clinical initiatives.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of and participates in KPWA business initiatives.
  • Practices in accordance with KPWA approved procedures, guidelines and protocols.

Resource Utilization and Operational Excellence
  • Actively builds a culture of equity by understanding health disparities and creates interventions to address them.
  • Ensures all pertinent patient care information is documented in the patient medical record in accordance with current standards and uses technology to manage the clinical practice.
  • Promotes the use and understanding of evidence‑based medicine to provide high‑quality care.
  • Evaluates procedural requests and reviews medical records to ensure appropriate plan of care is developed.
  • Develops, implements, reviews and maintains associated informed consent orders and instructions.
  • Complies with all state and federal regulations, in addition to KFHPW/WPMG practice standards.
  • Seeks and offers appropriate and timely consultations consistent with protocols.
  • Orders medication within prescriptive authority and promotes the use of the KPWA formulary.
  • Orders lab, pharmacy, radiology, and special tests appropriately.
  • Participates in medical staff quality improvement and review activities.
  • Supports and promotes LEAN principles.
