Position: CLINICAL ASSOC PROF

Job Summary

Our department is seeking an energetic, collaborative, growth-oriented, and fellowship-trained urologist to be a founding member of the Troy Center for Specialty Care team. This position offers the opportunity to help create and lead a first-of-its-kind interdisciplinary Comprehensive Men's Health and Reproductive Urology program at Michigan Medicine's new Troy Center for Specialty Care, scheduled to open in the summer of 2027.

The urologist will be embedded in the Center for Reproductive Medicine where they will engage in multidisciplinary reproductive urology care with onsite reproductive endocrinologist and infertility specialists and full-service assisted reproductive technology and andrology labs. They will be able to perform the full complement of in-office and operating room reproductive urology procedures, including microsurgical testicular sperm extraction (microTESE), vasectomy reversal, varicocelectomy, electroejaculation, and local anesthetic sperm extraction procedures.

They will also be leading a Comprehensive Men's Health program in the Troy Center for Specialty Care that will have the opportunity to build relationships with local and regional primary care physicians, cardiologists, and other clinical teams to provide a full suite of men's health diagnoses, including erectile and sexual dysfunction, Peyronie's disease, hypogonadism, lower urinary tract dysfunction, and prostate cancer detection.

This position is an excellent opportunity to grow a practice and deliver integrated reproductive, sexual, hormonal, and prostate care in a region with strong patient demand. In this role, you will work with a variety of physicians from inside and outside Michigan Medicine to build a practice in a new region with the full support of an existing department and fellowship-trained colleagues behind you.

Responsibilities*

Two complementary clinics (CRM and CMH) will be staffed by a 1.0 FTE urologist with fellowship training in Male Reproductive Medicine.

Clinical Conditions

Primary Clinical Focus Areas

  • Male infertility
  • Sexual health/erectile dysfunction/Peyronie's disease
  • Testosterone deficiency
  • Prostate cancer detection
  • Lower urinary tract symptoms

Primary Operative Procedures

  • Infertility procedures:
    MicroTESE, varicocele repair, vasectomy reversal
  • Penile prosthesis implantation
  • Penile reconstruction for Peyronie's disease
  • Scrotal surgery for other benign conditions (e.g., hydrocele, spermatocele)
  • General outpatient male urologic surgeries

In-Clinic Procedures

  • Sperm extractions under local anesthesia
  • Electroejaculation
  • Vasectomy
  • Penile doppler ultrasound
  • Peyronie's disease management (e.g., Xiaflex)
  • Testopel insertion
  • Cystoscopy
  • Minimally invasive surgical therapies for benign prostate hyperplasia
Required Qualifications *

The selected candidate must have a MD or DO degree and be board certified or board eligible. Successful candidates will have completed urology residency. The candidate must hold or have the ability to hold the appropriate State of Michigan medical licenses. Evidence of clinical competence is expected as well as evidence of scholarly activity (publications in peer-reviewed journals).
