Job Title

The role involves supporting the GEC ACOS with coverage needs for clinical operations in Finger Lakes HCS GEC.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supports GEC ACOS with intermittent coverage needs for overall clinical operations in Finger Lakes HCS GEC.
  • Assists with completion of Hospice and Palliative Care consults.
  • As the HBPC Medical Director, oversees the overall care delivered by the HBPC PACT.
  • Provides clinical mentorship and supervision to HBPC PACT ANPs while overseeing clinical and programmatic operations.
  • Participates in clinical performance improvement programs related to HBPC quality metrics.
  • Develops policy and procedures for implementing the HBPC program and ensures integration into VA medical facility procedures.
  • Is accessible and responsive to HBPC PACT members with urgent needs.
  • Oversees care planning for all Veterans enrolled in the HBPC Program.
  • Communicates medical care advances and practice standards to the HBPC PACT.
  • Arranges physician coverage and communicates the plan to the HBPC PACT.
  • Collaborates with other HBPC Medical Directors, VISN leadership, and VHA Central Office staff on program development issues.
  • Collaborates with the HBPC Program Director and VA medical facility to select qualified clinicians and staff for the HBPC PACT.
  • Maintains a patient caseload and conducts home visits with other HBPC PACT team members as needed.
Compensation and Benefits

Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases. Paid Time Off: 50-55 days per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME). Retirement:
Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA. Insurance:
Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement). Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory. CME:
Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification). Malpractice:
Free liability protection with tail coverage provided.

Contract:

No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting. EDRP Authorized:
Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply for incentive. Contact roseann.pomaranski, the EDRP Coordinator for questions/assistance. This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application.
