Permanent Neonatology Physician in Carrollton, Georgia .

Shift: Daytime clinical rounding in NICU and newborn unit with ongoing clinical oversight; supported by full-time NNP daytime coverage

Position Details:
Patient Population: Premature, critically ill, and newborn infants
Setting: Level III NICU (10 beds) and 20-bed newborn unit within a modern community hospital
Responsibilities:

• Provide neonatology coverage for a Level III NICU
• Deliver care for newborns in a 20-bed newborn unit
• Participate in a collaborative 3-physician neonatal staffing model
• Perform daily NICU and newborn nursery rounding
• Provide clinical oversight and management of critically ill and premature infants
• Support admissions, stabilization, and ongoing neonatal patient management
• Collaborate with nursing staff, NNPs, and multidisciplinary care teams
• Participate in home-based call coverage rotation
• Contribute to evidence-based neonatal care and quality outcomes

Required Procedures:

• Neonatal critical care management
• Newborn stabilization and resuscitation
• NICU admissions and patient management
• Newborn nursery care
• Daily neonatal rounding

Support Staff: Neonatal Nurse Practitioners (NNPs), nursing staff, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary neonatal care teams
Days Per Month: Full-Time
On-Call/Weekends: Home call coverage for NICU responsibilities; weekend coverage likely included within shared call rotation

Requirements:

• Board Eligible or Board Certified in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine
• Completion of Neonatology Fellowship Training
• Georgia Medical License or willingness to obtain
• Neonatology experience required
• Clean malpractice and license history highly preferred
• Most recent NPDB Self Query Report (within 30 days)
• DEA required prior to start date
