About the Role:
Coney Island Homecare is seeking a compassionate and experienced Hospice Medical Director to join our dedicated teams in Billings and Bozeman, MT. Responsibilities:Provide clinical oversight and medical leadership for the hospice program in alignment with regulatory and organizational standards
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team (IDT) to develop and review individualized patient care plans
Certify and re-certify patient eligibility for hospice services in accordance with Medicare/Medicaid guidelines
Serve as a clinical resource and consultant for attending physicians, nurses, and care team members
Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) initiatives
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local hospice regulations and standards of care
Minimal time requirements for this role - up to 4 hours every 2 weeks. Includes approval of admissions, acknowledgement of times for end of life, and approving orders during bi-weekly IDT meetings via Teams.
Requirements:Active and unrestricted MD or DO license in the state of Montana
Board certification in Hospice and Palliative Medicine (ABHPM) preferred or willing to obtain
Minimum 2+ years of experience in hospice, palliative care, or related clinical setting
Strong knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid hospice conditions of participation
Excellent communication and interdisciplinary team collaboration skills
Demonstrated compassion and commitment to patient-centered, end-of-life care
Valid DEA certification and ability to prescribe medications as required
