About Legion Health
At Legion Health, we believe everyone deserves fast, affordable, and world‑class health care, and we’re building the AI infrastructure to deliver it at scale.
Legion is building autonomous medical care, starting with psychiatry. Our AI‑native care‑delivery platform automates much of the administrative work involved in delivering direct patient care, freeing clinicians to focus on diagnosis, treatment, and their relationships with patients.
We combine rich clinical data, production AI, doctors in the loop, and end‑to‑end care operations to deliver measurably better care to a clinically complex patient population. Our model gives clinicians the support and stability of an established organization with the flexibility and autonomy of modern telemedicine practice.

- Job Type: Part‑time or Full‑time
- Department: Patient‑Facing (Clinical)
- Required License: Active, unrestricted Texas medical license
- Additional Licensure: Multi‑state licensure is a plus; willingness to obtain additional licenses as Legion expands is required
- Clinical Mix: Primarily psychiatric intake visits, plus a small follow‑up caseload and clinical escalations

Legion Health is looking for a clinically excellent, patient‑centered psychiatrist to establish the clinical foundation for each patient’s care.
The majority of your work will consist of comprehensive psychiatric intake evaluations. You will clarify diagnoses, assess risk and clinical complexity, and develop clear, practical, evidence‑based treatment plans.
When a patient does not require continued psychiatrist‑level care, you will transition ongoing management to one of Legion’s psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners through a complete, clinically actionable handoff. You will retain a small follow‑up caseload for patients whose complexity, risk profile, or treatment needs benefit from continued psychiatrist involvement.
You will also serve as a trusted consultation and escalation resource for our advanced practice providers and broader interdisciplinary care team. The ideal candidate has experience managing or clinically leading APPs and enjoys helping other clinicians deliver excellent care.
This position is designed for someone who finds the speed and ambition of a startup energizing. You should welcome the opportunity to work differently from a traditional psychiatry job, move quickly, contribute beyond a narrowly defined clinical role, and help build a better model of care.
You do not need to be an AI expert. You should, however, approach AI with an open mind and a sense of optimism about how thoughtfully designed technology can improve clinical care, clinician experience, and patient access.

- Collaborative Transitions to Ongoing Care: Determine when a patient can appropriately transition to PMHNP‑led care and provide a complete, timely handoff that supports continuity.
- Focused Psychiatrist‑Led Follow‑Up: Maintain a small caseload of patients whose complexity, acuity, risk, or treatment resistance warrants continued psychiatrist involvement.
- Clinical Consultation and Escalations: Partner with APPs on complex diagnostic, medication, safety, treatment‑response, and acuity questions, with renewed psychiatrist involvement when clinically appropriate.
- Responsible Telehealth Prescribing: Prescribe medications through telehealth—including Schedule II and Schedule IV controlled substances when clinically appropriate and legally permitted—in accordance with federal and state law, DEA requirements, applicable telemedicine regulations, and Legion’s evidence‑based clinical pathways.
- APP Leadership and Development: Provide clinical guidance, feedback,…
