this is a full performance professional and technical position in the field of forensic science using appropriate protocols to analyze friction ridge evidence. Work includes performing forensic examination in the area of pattern and impression evidence including the analysis of latent prints on physical evidence and the comparison of friction ridge skin impressions. The senior latent print examiner completes all work aligning with iso
17025 accreditation standards. Work also includes writing reports of findings, entering prints into the automated fingerprint identification system (afis) database, monitoring the section's casework, and providing courtroom testimony as needed; and related work as required.

Public safety employees such as commissioned law enforcement officers hired by the new orleans police department (nopd), firefighters hired by the new orleans fire department (nofd), emergency medical technicians hired by the new orleans emergency medical services (noems) and the recruits for these positions hired by these departments are excluded from this provision.
Airport employees are excluded from this provision if the actual domicile of the employee is nearer to the employee's job site than the distance from the job site to the nearest point of orleans parish.
