Interventional Cardiologist - Brooksville
The Interventional Cardiologist delivers comprehensive cardiovascular care with a focus on invasive and minimally invasive procedures for the diagnosis and treatment of coronary and vascular conditions. This role is responsible for providing high-quality, evidence-based care across inpatient and outpatient settings while supporting organizational goals related to quality, patient safety, and clinical outcomes. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital.
Key Responsibilities Perform diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures, including cardiac catheterization, angiography, percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), and stent placement Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with acute and chronic cardiovascular disease Interpret imaging studies, hemodynamic data, and diagnostic tests to guide treatment planning Provide pre-procedural assessment, intra-procedural management, and post-procedural care Participate in STEMI response and other emergent cardiovascular interventions Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including cardiovascular surgery, hospital medicine, emergency medicine, and nursing Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient care, procedural details, and outcomes in the electronic medical record Participate in call rotation and ensure availability for urgent and emergent cases Adhere to established clinical protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements Support quality improvement initiatives, including participation in peer review, morbidity and mortality conferences, and performance improvement activities Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and preventive care Ensure alignment with system-wide quality initiatives, performance standards, and evidence-based practices to support organizational goals related to patient safety, outcomes, and regulatory compliance Maintain clear alignment with the defined reporting structure within the cardiovascular service line, including integration with Interventional Cardiology (IC) and Center of Excellence (COE) frameworks to support consistency in clinical oversight and operational effectiveness.
Demonstrate accountability for clinical quality outcomes by actively participating in morbidity and mortality (M&M) conferences, peer review processes, and continuous quality improvement initiatives. Ensure alignment with system-wide quality initiatives, performance standards, and evidence-based practices to support organizational goals related to patient safety, outcomes, and regulatory compliance
Education Qualifications Medicine Osteopathic (DO) Licenses and Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Red Cross or American Heart Association Experience Qualifications Demonstrated experience in performing interventional cardiac procedures in a hospital or clinical setting. Experience in acute care, catheterization lab, or high-acuity cardiovascular environment
