Associate Medical Director

The Physician Supervisor (Associate Medical Director) is responsible for professional medical services to patients in accordance with standards of practice in Corrections and community standards, and the Bureau of Health Services Policies, Procedures and Standards. The Associate Medical Director attends to the medical needs of patients, diagnosing and treating illness and injuries and arranging for professional consultation when warranted; supervises, in conjunction with the Health Service Manager, the development and implementation of treatment protocols and patient work flows.

This position supervises the physicians and nurse practitioners at designated regional institutions. The Associate Medical Director will meet as needed with a multidisciplinary team including Health Services Managers, Assistant Directors of Nursing, Wardens, Psychological Services, Security, Medical Director, and others, in order to formulate and implement medical policies, operational procedures and work flows at the unit level.

This position is in pay schedule and range 50-51 with base pay starting from $127.74/hour - $141.45/hour. Candidates are eligible for an additional $21.00/hour for Board Certification and $7.00/hour for supervisory duties. Total starting compensation from $ - $294,216 annually.

Pay rates on appointment for current state employees may vary according to the applicable pay transaction provisions of the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code.

This position has the flexibility of a hybrid in-office and remote work schedule of up to 3 days per week. The final schedule will be determined upon hire.

The Associate Medical Director provides direct care at other institutions, and on-call duties, as directed by the Medical Director.

• Providing direct care to patients (examinations, recommend treatment options, order lab work/treatments, etc.)
