We are sharing a specialised consulting opportunity for experienced adolescent eating-disorder professionals with advanced expertise in clinical risk assessment, severity staging, intervention judgement, medical stability, and evidence-based treatment approaches to contribute to an advanced AI training and clinical evaluation project.

Selected professionals will review complex adolescent eating-disorder cases, assess clinical and medical risk, apply recognised diagnostic and screening frameworks, and provide structured guidance grounded in current standards of care. The work requires substantial direct clinical experience with adolescents, strong judgement around escalation and treatment suitability, and the ability to communicate nuanced recommendations clearly to non-specialist audiences. No prior experience in AI is required.

Key Responsibilities Clinical Assessment & Diagnostic Evaluation
  • Review adolescent eating-disorder cases and produce detailed written clinical assessments
  • Apply DSM-5 criteria and recognised screening tools such as EDE-Q and SCOFF
  • Characterise presenting symptoms, severity, and diagnostic considerations accurately
  • Identify clinical features that may indicate escalating risk or greater treatment complexity
  • Distinguish between different patterns of disordered eating and clinically significant eating disorders
Medical Risk & Severity Staging
  • Assess medical stability and identify presentations requiring urgent escalation
  • Apply recognised medical-risk frameworks such as MEED where appropriate
  • Evaluate physiological, nutritional, behavioural, and contextual indicators of severity
  • Identify situations requiring higher levels of clinical or medical intervention
  • Document the reasoning behind severity and escalation decisions clearly
Treatment & Intervention Judgement
  • Evaluate the appropriateness of evidence-based treatment approaches such as FBT and CBT-E
  • Match interventions to the adolescent's clinical presentation, developmental stage, and risk profile
  • Assess whether treatment intensity and modality are appropriate for the case
  • Identify circumstances requiring multidisciplinary or specialist intervention
  • Provide practical guidance grounded in current clinical standards and established treatment frameworks
Comorbidity & Safeguarding Evaluation
  • Identify psychiatric, medical, and psychosocial comorbidities that may affect overall risk
  • Assess safeguarding concerns and contextual factors influencing treatment or escalation
  • Consider co-occurring anxiety, self-harm, or other relevant conditions where present
  • Integrate comorbidity and safeguarding considerations into overall clinical formulation
  • Highlight factors that may materially alter treatment planning or urgency
Clinical Guidance & Quality Review
  • Produce clear, actionable written guidance suitable for non-specialist users
  • Explain clinical reasoning, treatment considerations, and escalation decisions precisely
  • Benchmark clinical judgements against established guidelines and peer standards
  • Review assessments for consistency, completeness, and clinical safety
  • Incorporate reviewer feedback and evolving project standards into subsequent work
Ideal Profile
  • 3–5+ years of post-qualification experience working directly with adolescent patients in a clinical setting
  • Specialist background in eating disorders, child or adolescent psychiatry or psychology, or adolescent or paediatric medicine with a focus on eating disorders
  • Active clinical licence or professional registration in good standing
  • Recent experience managing an adolescent caseload or practising clinically within approximately the past two years
  • Strong proficiency with DSM-5 diagnostic criteria and screening tools such as EDE-Q and SCOFF
  • Familiarity with medical-risk assessment protocols such as MEED
