Swing Shift Diagnostic Radiologist

Gaston Radiology (GRAD), a physician-led independent practice serving the Charlotte metro area since 1949, is seeking a Remote/Swing Shift Diagnostic Radiologist to join our growing team.

As a Diagnostic Radiologist at GRAD, you will deliver high-quality imaging interpretation and collaborative patient care across a broad range of modalities and clinical settings. In this role, you will:

• Provide accurate and timely reporting during assigned swing shift coverage.
• Support emergency department, inpatient, and outpatient imaging workflows.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to support patient care.
• Maintain efficiency, accuracy, and professionalism in a remote work environment.
• Participate in peer review and quality assurance initiatives.

• MD or DO degree
• Completed ACGME-accredited Diagnostic Radiology residency
• Board-certified or board-eligible by the American Boardof Radiology
• Eligible for North Carolina medical licensure
• Strong proficiency across multiple diagnostic imaging modalities
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a multidisciplinary clinical environment
• Imaging Interpretation – Proficient in CT, MRI, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, and radiographic studies across a broad range of patient populations and clinical conditions.
• Technology Proficiency – Experience with PACS, EPIC, McKesson, Powerscribe 360, and other modern radiology IT systems.
• Workflow Management – Able to manage a high-volume workload while maintaining accuracy, efficiency, and turnaround expectations.
• Collaboration – Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to decision-making with physicians and clinical staff.
• Adaptability – Comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment and managing diverse case complexity.
• Accountability – Takes ownership of patient care quality, reporting accuracy, and professional responsibilities.

This is a primarily sedentary role performed in a reading-room or office environment. Essential functions include extended periods of seated workstation use, sustained visual focus on high-resolution monitors, repetitive use of a mouse, keyboard, and dictation system, and clear verbal communication with referring physicians and staff. Occasional standing, walking, and reaching are required when consulting in clinical areas, and the radiologist must be able to operate standard imaging and IT equipment.
