The Department of Pathology at Michigan Medicine (University of Michigan) has over 220 faculty members with extramural research support totaling nearly $30 million dollars. The Department of Pathology at Michigan Medicine is seeking qualified candidate for a clinical assistant/associate/professor position. The primary responsibilities of this new pathologist will be with in the Division of Diagnostic Genetics and Genomics Laboratories. Your primary clinical and scholarly responsibilities will be related to service, teaching, and research activities in DGG Molecular and Pathology Informatics. The on-call duty is shared by many and may vary depending on staffing availability.

Working with other faculty members in the listed sections, you will play an important role in this clinical service. Active involvement in our teaching and research missions, will also be expected. Their clinical service responsibilities will account for most of their professional time. The balance of their time will be spent in the pursuit of scholarly and teaching activities. Teaching activities will be primarily related to our pathology residents and fellows but will also involve medical students who rotate on our service, and clinical fellows.

Doctor of Medicine degree (or equivalent) MD/PhD, or PhD, American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ABMGG) board certified or board eligible in CMGG or LGG. Experience with next generation sequencing (NGS) is required, and at least 5 year's experience in whole exome and/or whole genome sequencing is highly desired. A track record of peer-reviewed publications, clinical excellence, and commitment to education is desirable.
